Deborah "Debbie" Lee Dodson Deborah "Debbie" Lee Dodson, 70, of Vincennes, Indiana, died peacefully with her family by her side on February 27, 2022. Debbie was born January 11, 1952, in Vincennes, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late Ivan "Rex" Fisher and Wilma Fox. She graduated from high school in 1970 and from Vincennes Beauty College in 1971. Debbie was proud of her work as a beautician for more than 40 years, much of that time serving and caring for clients at many area nursing homes. Helping people feel beautiful brought such joy to Debbie. Debbie was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church but recently had been attending Christ Community Church. She met the love of her life, Tom Dodson, while on a date with one of his friends, but she quickly knew Tom was who she was meant to be with. The two married December 31, 1972. Later, they welcomed daughters Stacy Lee Dodson and Michelle Lee Dodson, the pride and joy of Debbie's life. Debbie enjoyed her time working in nursing homes, relishing in all the stories and life lessons she heard from the residents. While Debbie left them with a perfectly permed, coiffed or trimmed head of hair, she felt like she left the sessions with something too. That exchange of joy was felt by the residents who truly treasured her. While Debbie thought there would be no greater gift than her two daughters, she realized an even grander one when her granddaughter, Riley Smith arrived. She loved nothing more than spending time with her Riley Roo. The two had a bond like no other. The duo was happy doing anything together. Debbie also enjoyed spending time with friends and among their favorite activities were gallivanting around town and cruising on a sunny day to find the next best place to eat. Debbie also enjoyed spending time with her family. She and daughter Michelle, along with son-in-law Brad, had a special bond which grew even closer after the death of Stacy in 2020. Many of those close to Debbie have a picture she colored for them and then framed as she enjoyed sharing her love of beautiful things with those she cared about. Debbie's deep love and carefully adventurous spirit will be missed by so many who loved and cared for her and whom she loved and cared for over the years. Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Fox, stepfather James Fox, father Ivan "Rex" Fisher, mother-in-law Margaret Dodson, adoring husband of 30 years Tom Dodson and loving daughter Stacy. She is survived by daughter Michelle Smith; son-in-law Brad Smith; granddaughter Riley Smith; step-mother Vera Fisher-Milks; siblings Anita Ellerman, Jay Fox, Randy Fisher, Brenda Blackmon, Todd Fisher, and Roy Selby; nieces Lindsey Brown, Tiffany Cooper, Amber Dodson and Jayla Detty and nephews Shaye Frye and Jake Owens. nieces Lindsey Brown, Tiffany Cooper and Amber Dodson, and nephew Shaye Frye. Officiating will be pastor Ron Fellows. Internment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, Indiana, under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home.
