Doris Yunghans

Doris Helen Yunghans, 87, of Fox Ridge Manor, Vincennes, passed away on July 23, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.She was born April 11, 1926 in Vincennes, Indiana to Albert and Esther (Brackmann) Yunghans.Doris retired after serving as school secretary at Lincoln High School since 1956. She had also served as secretary for Bringwald Transfer Company and Hollen Furnace Company. She attended the St. John's Lutheran School and in 1944 she graduated from Lincoln High School. A member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Doris served for many years as church organist, recording secretary, and was also very active with the youth as a member of the Church's Walter League.Surviving is her sister, Jean Lawyer of New Whiteland, Indiana; a sister in law, Marian Yunghans of Bellingham, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding Doris in death were her parents, and two brothers, Ray Yunghans and Charles Yunghans.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday July 27, 2013 at Gardner Brockman Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service time on Saturday.
