Flora Like

Flora Lee Jean Like, 98, passed away at 6:00 pm on October 10, 2019 at The Villages of Oakridge in Washington, IN. Jean was born on September 1, 1921 in Vincennes the daughter of Oliver and Audrey (Ferguson) Grider. She married August Overton Like and he preceded her in death.Jean worked at Hamilton Glass for several years where she served as President of the Union for two terms and negotiated two contracts as President. She also was a member of the Homemakers Association for many years.Survivors include her daughters, Donya Thomas of Vincennes Terrie Gognat of Bruceville; son, Richard Like of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Melanie Wilson, Roger Roach, Staci McGuyer, Rob Gognat, Lorie Like, Dana Freeman, Frank John Thomas, Lianna Teller; great grandchildren, John Wilson, Linsie Preusz, Katie Sargeant, Jake Gognat, Logan Gognat, Frank Anthony Thomas, Giavanna Thomas, Seth Teller and Starr Teller. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband August Overton Like; daughter, Sue Bodart,; sisters, Elsie Houk, Jane Reeves, Rose Ellen Overfelt and grandson, Scott Bodart.Friends may visit with Jean's family from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St., Vincennes, IN with Judy Deuel officiating.
