Mary Anthis

Mary Margaret Anthis, 77, of 1708 Wheatland Road, Vincennes, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at her residence.She was born February 9, 1937 in Vincennes to Charles and Marie (Compton) Young.Margaret was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and had worked at Sater Morgan and Hills Department Store. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed sewing and crafts.Those surviving who will honor Margaret's memory is her husband, Jim Anthis, whom she married January 14, 1955,; two children, Gayle (Mike) Anderson, and Jim (Kimberly) Anthis, both of Vincennes; two sisters, Ann Patterson and Ruth Blagrave, both of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Samantha) Anderson, Courtney (Deanna) Anderson, Kristin (Michael) Cullivan, Joshua (Jenny) Anthis, Jamie Anthis, Delaney Anthis, Lindsey (Kellan) Scott, Whitney Twitty, and Marcy Twitty; and her great grandchildren, Bianca Anderson, Layne Anderson, Evelyn Anderson, Gracelyn Anderson, Lillian Anthis, Austin Anthis, and one more on the way.Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brothers and sisters, Agnes Thomas, Charles Young Jr., John Young, Faye Young, Neil Young, Joe Young, and Sandy Young.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Cheryl Garbe and Ray Tromley officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Community United Methodist Church.
