Roy Martin Vance

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Roy Martin Vance, born on September 5, 1932, and left us on October 8, 2023, at the age of 91. Roy married Georgia Lee Schaperjohn the love of his life and she preceded him in death in 2007.

Roy was a member of Free Methodist Church and retired from McCord Corporation. He loved to sing and was an opera singer. Roy was very passionate about baseball and IU Basketball. When his brother came back from the war, he took him to see the Boston Red Sox play the St. Louis Browns. He saw Ted Williams play for the first time and became an instant fan!

Survivors include his daughter, Debra Smith of Washington, IN; son, Robert Vance and his wife Tracy of Williamsport, PA; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and his brother, James Vance and his wife Maryann of Loogootee, IN. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Georgia Vance, his grandson Dustin Smith and two brothers.

Friends may visit with Roy's family from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 12:00 pm (Noon) on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Free Methodist Church, 1155 Troy Road, Washington, IN 47501.
