Albert Strange

March 2, 1932 — June 12, 2011

Albert Strange, 79, 1221 N. 13th Street, Vincennes, went home to be with his Lord on June 12, 2011. He had worked in maintenance at Hamilton Glass. Having been active in youth sports, he coached Little League baseball and basketball. Albert had played basketball at Bruceville High School and graduated from there. He was a member of Franklin Heights Christian Church, and was an avid fisherman. His parents, William & Emma (Bachs) Strange, preceded him, as well as four sisters; Julia Long, Clara Barrett, Loretta Arnott, and Vera Reardon. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ellen (Evans) Strange; his children, Mark Strange of Bruceville, IN, Diane Sampson of Oakland City, IN, Debra Marsh and Christopher Strange of Vincennes, IN, Pamela Mitchell of Thornton, CO, Kevin Strange of La Vernia, TX, and William (Bill) Strange of Lawrenceville, IL; a younger sister, Patty Swartz of Ft. Wayne, IN; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, from 2:00-5:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 20, at 10:30, at Franklin Heights Christian Church, 1509 Franklin Drive, Vincennes, with Pastors Wayne Unger & Jeff Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Franklin Heights Christian Church or Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.
