Alberta Cannon

Alberta R. Cannon, 78, passed away at her residence at 7:15 am on October 21, 2020. Alberta was born on June 21, 1942 in Washington the daughter of Sherman and Catherine (Brummett) Yerkes. She married Paris Cannon on December 7, 1979 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2015.Alberta was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, enjoyed cooking, and was the best cook in Daviess County. Most importantly though, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and every member of her family.Survivors include her daughters, Pam Goble and her husband Scott of Washington, Patricia Later and her husband Chris of Washington; son, Anthony Cannon of Washington; sisters, Esther Fleetwood of Washington, Mildred Fox of Washington, Margaret Grow of Washington, Jean Mayhew and her husband Danny of Asheboro, NC, Marsha Reisert and her husband Fritz of Brookville, IN; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paris, and brothers, Leroy, Sherman, Charles and Joseph Yerkes.Private graveside services were held in Sugarland Memory Gardens at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 with Rev. James Myers officiating. Alberta was laid to rest next to her husband Paris. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, Washington, IN is honored to assist the Cannon family with arrangements.
