Alberta Isabelle Whitesell, 97, of Vincennes, passed away at her home on Oct. 11, 2013.A member of the First Baptist Church, she was also involved with the Women's Missionary Society. Her other memberships included the Fortnightly Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.Born May 1, 1916 in Mansfield, IN, she was the daughter of Walter and Mae (Shoat) Tuttle. Her parents preceded her, as well as her husband, Charles R. Whitesell, whom she wed on May 14, 1935; two brothers and one sister.Surviving are her sons, Richard (Carol) Whitesell of Vincennes, and Stephen (Kay) Whitesell of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Jim Whitesell, Beth Smith, Jill Osterhage, Justin Whitesell, Ashley Whitesell, and Brandon Whitesell; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jana Whitesell, Stephen, Aaron, Garrett, and Brandon Smith, Danielle Douglas, and Michael and Mitchell Osterhage; and great-great grandchildren, Jaxson and Brileigh Osterhage, and Lyla Isabelle Douglas.Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 - 12:00 on Thursday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The funeral service will begin at 12:00.
