Alois Roland

Alois Ruby (Bowman) Roland, 94, of Vincennes, went to be with the Lord November 17, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Island, KY on September 15, 1917 the daughter of Eck and Edna Bowman. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Taber and her husband, Dorse, of Indianapolis, IN, Jo Miller and the late Larry Miller of Vincennes, IN, Debbie Brand and her husband, John, of Palestine, IL; grandchildren, Gary Trowbridge and wife, Debbie, of Seymour, IN, Tina (Trowbridge) Kramer and husband, Kyle, of Mesa, AZ, Alan Taber and wife, Cindy, of Fisher, IN, Theresa (Taber) Hill and husband, Steve, of Indianapolis, IN, Cathy (Taber) Shelton and husband, Brian, of Bedford, IN, Tonya (Brand) Evanoff and Van Evanoff Jr. of Brownsburg, IN, Bridgette (Brand) Likens and husband, Matt, of Terre Haute, IN, Heather (Brand) Weaver and husband, Matt, of Oblong, IL, Jeff Miller and wife, Debbie, of Lawrenceville, IL; half brother, Vendal Bowman, of Evansville, IN, half sisters, Barbara Chaney and Bernice Curtis, of Evansville, IN; great-grandchildren, Whitney Campbell, Jason and Ryan Taber, Donann Bruce and great-great grandchild, Chelsey and Casey Kramer, Grace and Jacob Likens, Van and Elia Evanoff, Colton and Myia Weaver, Nikki, Josh, and Joey Shelton. Proceeding Ruby in death were her parents Eck and Edna Bowman, step-mother Ethel Bowman, her grandmother Irene (Rene) Catherine Davis that raised Ruby, her three husbands Walter (Tuffy) Trowbridge, John (Shug) Dorey, and Don Roland, a half brother Jay C Bowman, two half sisters Mittie B Miles and Wanda Henry. Ruby worked at the Parachute Factory in Evansville, IN, then spent 18 years working for Reynolds Spring Factory which she retired from in 1974 to become a full-time Grandmother. She attended Outer West Market Church of Christ in Palestine, IL. She was also a member of Franklin Heights Christian Church in Vincennes, IN. Ruby served as a Pink Lady at Good Samaritan Hospital. She also was a member of the RSVP. Ruby loved the church, to cook, sew, and working with crafts. She was a wonderful, Christian Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother loved by all. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19th at 2:00 PM, Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Vincennes, IN with Pastor John Brand, Ruby's son-in-law, officiating the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 19th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
