ALTHEA DENISE MARTIN-SEFLINSEPTEMBER 27, 1956 - MARCH 24, 2013Althea Denise Martin-Seflin was born in Vincennes, Indiana September 26, 1956 to Cecil Bernard and Virginia Rae (Gordon) Martin. She passed away Sunday March 24, 2013 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nueys, California. Denise Spent her childhood years in Vincennes, Indiana; a 1974 graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School she attended Indiana University where she majored in Business. She was a member of Second Baptist Church located at 1208 Seminary Street in Vincennes Denise moved to Sana Monica, California in 1978. There she met and Married her husband of 31 years, Mitchell Seflin. They have two children: son, Shawn Seflin and daughter, Edythe Seflin-Garcia and three grandchildren: Mya Garcia, Naela Garcia and Vasea Garcia. Until her death, Denise had been a resident of Sherman Oaks, California for 32 years. Family members preceding her in death: mother, Virginia Rae Gordon-Martin and brothers: Christopher Shawn and Earl Bernard Martin. Survivors residing in Sherman Oaks, California include of her husband Mitchell Seflin, son, Shawn Seflin; daughter, Edythe Seflin-Garcia; son-in-law Angel Garcia and three Grandchildren: Maya, Naela and Vasea Garcia. Other survivors include: Father, Cecil B. Martin, three brothers: Leon Greely Martin & Cecil I. Martin of Vincennes Indiana; Anthony Dane Martin, Enkenbach-Alsenborn, Germany; three sisters: Edythe A. Martin, Evansville, Indiana; Ardella R. Martin Vincennes, Indiana and Stephanie Martin-Leohr, Wheaton, Ill.Memorial Services will be April 6th at the Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home. Services will be held from 10:30am
