Amelia Gosciniak

Amelia G. "Midge" Gosciniak, 93, passed away at 10:39 am on February 13, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Midge was born on September 30, 1925 in Preble, OH the daughter of Leroy and Josephine (Huddleston) Johns. She married George Gosciniak on July 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2005.Midge started working at age 16 and held various jobs until she moved to the area and started working for Pomeroys/PCA where she worked for twenty-eight years. She also owned and operated George's Bar. Midge was an avid golfer and accomplished getting two hole- in- ones. She enjoyed her family, and people and was a very giving person. Midge also enjoyed flying and took flying lessons in her younger years.Survivors include her daughter, Georgia Deckard and her husband Bill of Vincennes; sister, Lucille Miller; grandchildren, Christi Becher, Bret Deckard, Ryan Deckard and his wife Amber, great grandchildren, Kyle Becher, Carlee Becher, Dillon Deckard, Madison Deckard and Kaitlyn Deckard. Midge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Gosciniak; son, Richard Allen Gosciniak and two sisters, Maxine Owens and Margie Morrison.Friends may visit with Midge's family from 5-8 pm on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Midge's funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Don O'Dell officiating. Interment will follow in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
