Anna Mikiska

Anna Kathryn Mikiska, 79, of 150 Fox Ridge Drive, Vincennes, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday January, 23, 2013 at the New Willow Manor.She was born March 6, 1933 in Vincennes to Fred and Ellen (Herrington) Hughes.Anna had worked as a nurse for Good Samaritan Hospital and Willow Manor for several years. She belonged to the St. John Baptist Church.Surviving is her husband, Jack Mikiska, whom she married on May 12, 1956, her children; Mike (Laura) Mikiska of Vincennes, Teresa (James) Siewers of Vincennes, Kathy Williams of St. Louis, John Mikiska of St. Louis, Julie (Mike) Carney of Vincennes, Steve Mikiska of Vincennes, Stuart (Jenifer) Mikiska of St. Louis, and Matt Mikiska of St. Louis; a brother, Robert Hughes of Vincennes, along with 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren., and her beloved dog, Maggie. Preceding Anna in death were her parents, a brother Jack Hughes; a infant brother, Billy Hughes, sister in law, Charlotte Hughes, a daughter in law Angela Mikiska, and a grandson, Daniel Mikiska.Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4-8 Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may to Vista Care Hospice.
