Barbara A. Darnell, a beloved homemaker known for her deep devotion to family, will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her loved ones. With a profound sense of commitment to her husband, who passed away two decades ago, she viewed her family as her entire world and found solace in the memories they shared. Barbara's strong faith in the Lord guided her throughout her life, and she found comfort in the knowledge that she would soon reunite with her soulmate in the embrace of heaven.
Born in Danville, IL, in 1933, Barbara's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the love she poured into raising her children. Her dedication to her loved ones shone through in every act of kindness and sacrifice she made throughout her life.
Barbara's love for community and companionship was evident in her involvement with the Red Hat Society and her regular visits to the Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center. Here, she cherished the moments spent with friends, sharing laughter and stories that enriched her life immeasurably.
A faithful attendee of church services, Barbara found solace in her spiritual beliefs and the promise of an eternal reunion with her husband. She was a faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Vincennes. As her journey on earth comes to an end, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Barbara is survived by her children, Chuck Andrews and his wife, Patty, Barbara "Bobbie" Burton and her husband, Bob, Jackie Deckard and her husband, Jeff, Brenda Emmett and her husband Kevin, Zylphia Stout and her husband, Brian, and Claude Darrell and his wife, Kathy; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and also may special people she held dear to her heart. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Charity Peevler; her loving husband, Paul Jackie Darnell; and 6 brothers.
Funeral services for Barbara A. Darnell will be held at the Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home in Vincennes on May 28, 2024. The public viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery of Indianola. We invite all those whose lives were touched by Barbara to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating a life well-lived. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband for eternity.
