Ben Z. Nathan, 91, of Vincennes, passed away Jan. 3, 2014, at Prairie Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, IN. A 1941 graduate of Princeton High School in Princeton, IL, he was retired from Hamilton Glass, where he had worked in the accounting and credit departments for 27 years. He served in the Army Signal Corps. Ben was a member of the American Legion, 40et8, Moose Lodge #281, and the DAV. For many years, he was a gun trader, and participated in several shows a year. Born Dec. 22, 1922 in Princeton, IL, he was the son of Abraham and Katie (Schwartz) Nathan. Preceding him were his parents; his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Diana Shirazi; a son, Randall Nathan; two sisters; and one brother. Surviving are his children, Davis Nathan of Stafford, AZ, Steven (Chris) Nathan of Washington, IN, Janis (Drew) Elliote of Jacksonville, NC, Daniel (Sandy) Nathan of Birmingham, AL, and Stuart (Vicki) Nathan of Ft. Branch, IN; his special friend, Betty Letot; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, at 2:00 EDT, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 - 2:00.
