Benjamin Ephraim Utt, 84, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Bennie was born on March 27, 1937, to Hiram E. and Catherine M. (Gerkin) Utt. Bennie graduated from Fritchton High School in 1955 and moved on to serve in the Army Reserves. Bennie was a lifelong farmer and school bus driver for the South Knox School Corporation for forty-five years. He attended the Church of God in Monroe City. Bennie enjoyed spending time laughing and making memories with his family. He had a passion for basketball and enjoyed attending sporting events and extra curricular activities with his children and grandchildren through the years. He was a great supporter to many kids in the community. On December 3, 1961, he married Linda Hatton. Together they raised four daughters, Kelly Koskey and her husband Brian of Vail, AZ, Becky Cockrum of Vincennes, Michelle Conrad and her husband Chris of Oaktown, and Diane Thomas and her husband Joe of Monroe City. Bennie had eleven grandchildren: Nyssa Koskey, Sierra Cockrum, Bryant Cockrum, Olivia Davis, James Cockrum, Jasper Conrad, Jalen Conrad, Noah Thomas, Eli Thomas, Jackson Thomas, and Layla Thomas. Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim Utt, and his son, Patrick Benjamin Utt. Friends may visit with Bennie's family from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Bennie's funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Brown officiating.
