Benjamin E. Wood, 72, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:50 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born July 5, 1946 in Vincennes to Jim and Lula (Pickett) Wood.Ben worked over as a diesel mechanic for Schaller Trucking, DC Trucking, Relco Trucking, and had also worked as a farmhand for Risley Farms. Ben was a frequent visitor at the Hart Street McDonald's and enjoyed fishing, country music, and going to concerts.Surviving are his children, Jamie Woods and her husband, Robert of Bedford, Kelly Magill and her husband, David of Bedford, Scott Wood and his wife, Nora of Decker, Jeff Wood and his wife, Penny of Vincennes, Mary Wood of Texas, and Robin Wood of Oklahoma; his brothers and sisters, Danny Wood of Emison, Leo Wood of Vincennes, Steve Wood of Vincennes, Jim Wood of Emison, Betty Hensley of Tennessee, Ethel Clark of Emison, Brenda Blaize of Florida, and Nina Baetke of Iowa; his grandchildren, Brittany Woods, Kayci Wood, Harley Magill, Holly Wood, and Hayden Wood; his great grandchildren Tyler Kleysteuber and Laila Tabler; and his special friend, Dixie Bonner.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris (McCormick) Wood, and a son, Rick Wood.Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bryce Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 pm Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Benjamin Wood.
