Bernard Gould

B. Ray Gould, 91, passed away at 11:16 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Ray was born in Lawrenceville, IL on February 26, 1925 the son of Raymond and Minnie (Tebbe) Gould. He married Jeanne (Peerman) Gould on October 1, 1947 and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2003.Ray was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and the University of Illinois and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946 during WW II. He worked in the independent oil industry, as an accountant and controller for the city of Evansville and then from 1964 until 1986 he was the General manager and Vice President of Pepsi Cola. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Elks, Harmony Society and was a past member of the Lions club and Kiwanis.Survivors include his sons, Steven Gould of Vermillion South Dakota, Brad Gould of Houston, Texas, Jeffrey Gould and his wife Susan of Medford Lakes, New Jersey; and granddaughter, Fallon Gould of Medford Lakes, New Jersey. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, Grace England, Margaret Potter and Marie Gould, and two brothers, Irvin "Jack" Gould and Merle Gould.Visitation for Ray will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway and from 10 until 11 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Lawrence County, IL.
