Bertha Murphy

Bertha M. Murphy, 82, of Vincennes, passed away at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday March 4, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born May 24, 1932 in Greene County to Frank and Zella (Holmes) Clayton.Bertha was a beautician for many years and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church.Surviving is her husband, Albert Murphy of Vincennes; her children, Donna (Mike) Carter of Decker Chapel, Daniel Ivers of Vincennes, Beth Ivers and her companion Doug Kemmerer of Evansville, Alvena (Bill) Deckard of Vincennes; her stepchildren, Daniel Murphy of Vincennes, Tim (Billie) Murphy of Bruceville, and Patty (Brian) Terry of Princeton; and her sister, Ruby Baker of North Carolina.Also surviving are her grandchildren, Eric Carter, Brett Carter, Shane Ivers, Robbie Ivers, Lodena Potter, Joe Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Kristy Keller, Susan Thompson, Janet Shelton, Jessica bottoms, Libby Rinehart; her step grandchildren, Ryan Murphy, Eryka Murphy, Aubrey Murphy, Adrian Deckard, Ashley Deckard, and Samatha Yoder; 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Alvie Ivers who preceded her in 1957; a grandson, Clayton Thomas Rinehart; and a great grandson, Michael Dewey-Jack Carter.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 7, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
