Betty Beard

Betty Lou Beard, 84, passed away at 2:15 pm CST at her daughter's home in Robinson, IL on Friday, January 31, 2014. Betty was born on May 26, 1929 in Knox County, IN the daughter of Clarence and Cora (Gremore) Ivers. She married Wendell L. Beard on December 15, 1946 and he survives.Betty was a homemaker and a member of Decker Chapel Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter and seamstress. She enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren's sporting activities, loved to play cards and enjoyed traveling.Survivors include her loving husband of sixty - seven years, Wendell L. Beard of Vincennes; daughter's, Gretchen Bryant and her husband Mike of Robinson, IL;, Jadean Horst and her husband, Bob of Newton, IL; sons, Jeff Beard and his wife Laurie of Claremont, Il; Joe Beard and his wife Amy of Robinson, IL; sister's Susie Young and her husband, Charles of Vincennes; Linda Hancock and her husband Mick of Monroe City; brother, Jack Ivers and his wife, Jane of Greencastle, IN; grandchildren, Cory, Joshua and wife Shannon, Ryan and wife Kelly, and Andrew and wife Ashley Bryant; Matt and wife Erin, Nic and wife Randi and Robbie and wife Shayla Horst; Ben and wife Angie and Brett and wife Ashley Beard, Gretchen Ginder and husband Tim, Austin, Sydney and Tyler Beard, twenty four great grandchildren and sister-in-law's, Lois Beard and Bertha Ivers Murphy both of Vincennes. Betty was preceded in death by brother, Alva Ivers, sister, Burdette Raney, sister, Vera Hawkins, brother, Donald Ivers, sister, Shirley Ivers and brother, Gayle Ivers.A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Jack Ivers officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Betty's family from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home.
