Betty Ruth Kelley, 84, formerly of Washington, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Heritage Manor in El Paso, Il. She was born June 28, 1935 in Daviess County. Betty was the 15th of 17 children born to Dale and May (Raney) Allen. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Hoffman of White House, TN and Michele Nelson (Mike) of Normal, IL; five grandchildren, Mitch (Becky) Nelson of Bloomington, IL, Ethan Hoffman of Portland, TN, Mason Nelson of Cornelius, NC, Austin Hoffman of White House, TN and Emily Hoffman of White House, TN. One brother and one sister died in infancy. She was an excellent housekeeper and cleaned homes and babysat for a few very special families through the years. Betty worked at Kimball Electronics in Jasper for 13 years before retiring in 1996. Anyone who knew her, knew they could count on Betty to help them in any way she could. She was a devoted servant to her family and friends. She also made the very best homemade jelly. Betty loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren - they meant the world to her and she meant the world to them. She also enjoyed being with her sisters and playing card games, especially euchre. A sincere thank you to the staff at Heritage Health for taking such loving care of Betty for the past five years. Betty is leaving a wonderful legacy of loving and serving Jesus and others. The things of God were top priority to her and she passed that along to her daughters and grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed very much. She is now reunited with her husband she lived without on this earth for 36 years.
