Betty Mildred Yarbrough, 94, passed away at 5:50 pm on March 17, 2016 at Bridgepoint Health Campus. Betty was born on November 3, 1921 in Vincennes the daughter of William Dewey and Elizabeth (Smith) Soden. She married Walter L. Yarbrough on November 3, 1940 and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1988 and was also preceded in death by her daughter Judy Yarbrough on December 8, 2014.Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School. She helped her husband with the operation of Walt's Doughnut shop. Betty was a member of Psi Iota Psi, an avid golfer, bridge player, bowler, and she was an awesome mother and grandmother.Survivors include her daughters, Linda L. Miller and her husband Norman of Vincennes, Nancy S. Johnson and her husband Pete of Vincennes, Carol L. Johnson and her husband Russell of Greenwood; sister, Helen Harris of Carmel; grandchildren, Sandy McGowan and her husband Allan, Kelly Wehrheim and her husband Mark, Brooke Newton and her husband Dustin, Brian Johnson, Heath Johnson and his wife Betsy, Kyle Johnson and his wife Rachel, Lori Morse, Doug Duesterberg, David Duesterberg, Michelle and children, and Shelly Walli; great grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner McGowan, Erin and Allyson Wehrheim, Jaxson and Hadley Newton, Amy Morse, Julie, and Jerry Duesterberg, Megan Walli and Michael Walli. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jim Soden, and two sisters, Lucille Warren and Pat Crawford.Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Rev. John Hilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Betty's family on Sunday from 3-5 pm at the funeral home.
