Beulah Johnson

Joyce Johnson, 78, of Vincennes, passed away at 1:11 am Friday, September 11, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born May 27, 1942 in Vincennes, Indiana to Clarence and Leona (Grabbe) Held.Joyce was a registered nurse working at Good Samaritan Hospital and Gibson County General Hospital. A member of the Community United Methodist Church, Joyce and her husband Frank owned Johnson Oil Company from 1975 to 2003 and Johnson's Stop-N-Go from 1982 -2004. Avid boating enthusiasts, Joyce and Frank enjoyed many summers at Kentucky Lake and later in the Florida Keys. Joyce spent many years coordinating bereavement meals for members of the church.Surviving are her husband Frank Johnson whom she married on May 5, 1963; her children Timothy Lee Johnson of Sullivan, Tara Sue Knapp and her husband Kevin of Newburgh, and Trent Franklin Johnson and his wife Roslyn of Vincennes; her grandchildren Alexis Williams and her husband Shawn, Adam Johnson, Eli Johnson and his wife Crimzyn, Megan Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Kris Knapp, Dustin Knapp and his wife Danielle, and Hunter Knapp and his wife Katherine; along with seven great grandchildren.Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother and sisters Clara Strange, Mariam Bingham, Nelda Horn, Chester Held, and Doris Perkins.Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. Private funeral services will be held with Ray Tromley officiating Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church - Mary Marthas.
