Beverly Preusz

Beverly Joyce Carrie Preusz, of Bridgeport, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Bev was born in Vincennes, IN, August 5, 1948, to James Edward Carrie and Jewell Elizabeth Tewalt Carrie.Bev spent many years as a CNA at Good Samaritan Hospital, and several more managing local bars/eateries in the Iliana area - The Railroad Inn in Vincennes, where she was famous for her tacos, and most recently in Russellville, IL, where she continued the taco tradition as well as fish dinners that brought in large crowds. She was known for her "tell it like is" personality and her unmatched work ethic. She took pride in all her jobs and nobody did them better. She truly enjoyed her customers that became friends and looked forward to seeing them.Crafting was a love of Bev's - especially crocheting, quilting, and most recently cross-stitching. Many family members have been lucky enough to receive one of her quilts, pillows, or afghans, and they will be treasured for years to come. Bev was also an avid reader of Stephen King and Dean Koontz and loved movies and television from the same genre.Anyone who knew Beverly, appreciates how fiercely she loved her family and her loyalty to them above all else. She was the daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that everyone deserves to have, and her family is forever blessed and grateful for having had her for all those things.Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jewell, and her brothers Jimmy (infant), and Larry "Butch" Carrie, as well as her sister, Marilyn Bilskie, and nephews Jeffery Bilskie and Leonard Bilskie, Jr. She leaves behind her sons, Kurby Brand, and Robert Brand, both of Bridgeport, IL, and grandchildren Joshua Brand, of Ft. Branch, IN, and Mallory Brand of Vincennes. Her sister and best friend, Dottie Preusz, and her husband Steve reside in Vincennes. Her Godchildren, Stephen C. Preusz of Austin, TX, and Marlo Thorne of Vincennes, are among the many nieces, nephews, and greats that survive her. Bev will be forever loved and missed by those lucky enough to count her as family and friend.A Celebration of Bev's life will be at Noon, Thursday, August 6, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until Noon on Thursday. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Beverly Preusz.
