Bill Sutton

Bill L. Sutton, 88, of Monroe City, passed away at 9:45pm Thursday, November 7, 2019 at BridgePointe Health Campus.He was born August 31, 1931 in Knox County, Indiana to Amos and Cecil (Gott) Sutton.Bill retired from Johnson Controls and was a 1949 graduate of Monroe City High School. Bill was offered a scholarship to play basketball at Indiana University but chose Western Kentucky instead. He was part of the Monroe City basketball team that won the Wabash Valley Tournament and was the recipient of the Dr. Ernest O. Nay Sportsmanship Award and was the tournament Most Valuable Player.Surviving are his children, Tim Sutton and his wife Judy of Monroe City and Todd Sutton and his wife Theresa of Indianapolis; a sister, Betty Sanderson of Oatsville; and two grandchildren, Cody Sutton and Brittany Key.Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dona L. (Evans) Sutton; and his brothers, Frank Sutton, Junior Sutton, and Bobby Sutton.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Dale Biehl officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Community Church.Tribute Video
