Billy Clark

Billy Lee Clark, 92, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16th, 2020 at the age of 92.Bill was born May 15, 1927 to Russel and Irene (Bobe) Clark. Bill's mother Irene passed away from tuberculosis shortly after his birth. He was then raised and later adopted by his loving Aunt and Uncle Minnie (Bobe) and Earl McCoy.Bill graduated from Monroe City High School in 1945 and went on to study agriculture at Purdue University. For most of Bill's life he farmed on his family farm. First with Earl by his side and then continued with his son Mark. Farming was something he loved and had a passion for, only hanging up the carhartts in his late eighties.Bill took a short stent away from farming to serve in the United States Army. On April 5th, 1952 at the age of twenty-five Bill married Evelyn Sue Thorne. They had wo children together and spent 49 wonderful years together. On March 9th, 2002 Bill married Zola (Cockerham) Walton in Anderson, Indiana. They spent eighteen happy years together. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Evelyn Sue.He is survived by his wife Zola (Cockerham) Clark of Vincennes; his two children Mark and his wife Beth (Bedwell) Clark of Vincennes, Lisa (Clark) and her husband Gary Benock of Vincennes ; six grandchildren, Jason Benock of Monroe City, Jennifer (Benock) and her husband Conway Cox of Owensville, Ellen Benock of Vincennes, Latasha (Clark) and her husband Aaron Bezy of Monroe City, Teah (Clark) Helderman and her husband Joshua of Monroe City, and Mac and his wife Krista (Perkins) Clark of Vincennes as well as 21 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, in Vincennes with Rusty Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites provided by the all-weather firing squad. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the start of the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Unit at Willow Manor Nursing Home, 3801 Old Bruceville Road, Vincennes IN 47591
