Bobby Hoops

Bobby W. Hoops Sr., 84 passed away at 4:30 am on February 24, 2019 at Gentle Care Nursing Home. Bobby was born on October 14, 1934 in Decker Chapel the son of Marion Henry and Lula Mae (Fidler) Hoops. He married Christie Ingle on April 3, 1968 and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2007.Bobby was a graduate of Monroe City High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Bobby farmed for Don Berry Farms and was also a member of First Church of God in Monroe City.Survivors include his children, Bobby Hoops and his wife Misty of Monroe City, David Hoops and his wife Patty of Monroe City, Angela Byers and her husband Randy of Greenwood, IN; step-son, William Morris and his wife Jennifer of Vincennes; grandchildren, Josh Hoops and his wife Taylor, Jaden Hoops, Jackson Hoops, Garrett Hoops, Justin Hoops, Andrew Chanley, Jace Morris; great grandchild, Amelia Chanley and his sister Brenda King and her husband Raymond of Vincennes. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Christie Hoops and a brother William Hoops.Graveside services for Bobby will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Monroe City with Pastor Mark Nielson officiating. The All-Weather Firing Squad will conduct military honors and interment will follow the graveside service. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the Hoops family with arrangements.
