Bonita Boyd

Bonita "Bonnie" Boyd, 78, of Vincennes, IN went home to be with the Lord, August 3, 2022. She was born in Vincennes, IN on February 7, 1944, to the late Floyd J. and Mildred L. (Stevens) Pinkstaff. Bonnie graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1962. She married, the love of her life, James J. "Jim" Boyd on April 19, 1964. Bonnie worked as a CNA at Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years. She was an active member of Thursday Church and loved to help with their food distribution program. In her early years Bonnie enjoyed riding trail bikes with her husband in Shawnee National Forest in Southern IL and traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains. She also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, mushroom hunting, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter. Bonnie truly never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Shirley (Larry) Woodard and Diane Pinkstaff; and brother Donnie Pinkstaff. Bonnie is survived by her husband, of 58 years, Jim Boyd; children James Joseph (Dee Dee) Boyd Jr. and Brandi Lee Hanna; granddaughter Shelby Lynn Hanna; and sister-in-law Margo Pinkstaff. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mrs. Boyd. Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, from 1-3pm EST at the Gardner-Brockman Chapel, 505 Main St. Vincennes, IN. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, at 3pm. Memorial Contribution can be made to Thursday Church in Bonnie's honor.
