Bonnie Sanders

Bonnie M. Sanders, 85, of Vincennes, IN passed away in her home on October 6, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1938, to Francis Scott and Helen (Tanner) Gognat. Bonnie married Carl E. Sanders on April 14, 1972. She graduated from Indiana University. Bonnie proudly worked as a teacher for over 30 years until her retirement where she became an executive secretary for CEF and later a medical clerk for Good Samaritan Hospital.

Bonnie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all sports but her favorites were IU basketball, Cardinals baseball and the Women's WNBA. When she wasn't watching sports she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, listening to country music, volunteering with the food pantry and Good Samaritan Hospice. Bonnie was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Old Cathedral Church. She will be deeply missed by all.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Francis Scott and Helen Gognat; daughter Beth Sanders; brother Raymond Gognat; sister Dorothy Miller; brother-in-law Mike Hoke.

She is survived by her husband Carl E. Sanders of Lake Station, IN; sons Bruce Sanders & children of Lake Station, IN, John (Lori) Sanders & children of Sheboygan, WI, Denis (Nicole) Sanders of Valporaiso, IN; daughter Carla (Dale) Williams; grandchildren Gwen Storey, Alayna Sanders, Ethan Sanders, Elijah Williams, Hannah Williams, Natalie Williams; sister Kathryn Hoke of Vincennes, IN; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Sanders. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10 am in Bruceville Cemetery.
