Brenda Dowty

Brenda Kay Dowty "Mammy", 70, of Poseyville, IN passed away April 26, 2019 at home surrounded by family. She was born September 23, 1948 in Princeton, IN to the late Eliza Clorene (Banks) and Harold Ruford Crackel. Brenda attended Mt. Carmel High School and shortly after married the love of her life Robert Dowty. They celebrated their 46th anniversary before he passed. She worked for Joe's Red and White in Owensville for several years then retired from Wal-mart's craft department. Brenda loved to read, crochet, work on adult coloring books, and watch Jeopardy. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roberty Dowty; son, Tracy Dowty; and grandsons, Taylor Lee Dowty and Jon Michael Mauck. Brenda is survived by her children Edie Dowty and Mikey Dowty of Poseyville, IN; grandchildren Chris (Tricia) Goodman and Jennifer Goodman; great grandchildren Austin Goodman, Tristan Mobley, Kyleigh Goodman, Luke Goodman, and Noah Goodman; siblings Donna (Ron) Clark and Harold (Kathy) Crackel. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Dowty. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Holders Funeral Home from 10a-12p and Funeral at 12p with Donnie Mobley officiating. Interment will follow at Maumee Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thank you to Neva Wright for all her help and Deaconess Hospice and Deaconess Home Health for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holders Funeral Home to aid in funeral expenses.
