Brian Downen

Brian R. Downen, 51, of Monroe City, IN, passed away February 27, 2020, at his home.Brian owned and operated his own school bus, and also farmed. He worked at the South Knox School Corporation, where he was in charge of transportation maintenance. Brian graduated from Oakland City University. He especially enjoyed his time with the Knox County Fair Board and the Knox County 4H Club.Born February 29, 1968, he was the son of Victor Frank and Karen Elizabeth (Hooks) Downen. They both survive, along with his wife, Kimberly (Kerns) Downen, whom he married March 16, 1996; his children, Brian Samuel "Sam" Downen and his fiance', Lexi Pond, and Kristen Elizabeth Jones and her husband, Alex; his step-sons, J.D. Hollis, and Jeremy Hollis and his wife, Ashley; his sister, Vicki Hicks; and his grandchildren, Jillian Lee Hollis, and Paxton James Hollis.Friends may visit with Brian's family from 3:00 - 8:00 on Monday, at Goodwin-SieversFuneral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 10:30, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Donations may be made to the Knox County Fair.
