Brian Joseph Auberry, passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 53, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 8, 1971, in Chicago, IL, Brian, also known as "The Legend" and Uncle B was a man of quick wit and a master of sarcastic humor. Brian had a way of making everyone around him laugh and feel at ease. His presence will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
A proud member of the Thursday Church, Brian found solace and community in his faith. His passion for sports shone brightly as he cheered on the Chicago Bears and Cubs with unbridled enthusiasm and rooted for Indiana Hoosier basketball. He found peace and joy on the golf course and while playing in his beloved men's softball league, making and eating pizza,and more recently spending time with his nephews, Blade, Briggs, and Bronx.
Brian is survived by his father, Steve Auberry and stepmother Karen; siblings, Stephanie Carter (Michael), Jennifer Field (Kevin Newman), Stacey Higgins (Dave), Lynn Martin, Laura Bobe (Chris Ade), and Denny Strate; brother in law, Tim Watts; and his special aunt and caregiver, Trena Carson. Brian is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Strate; and oldest sister, Lisa Watts
In celebration of Brian's life, a Funeral Service will be held at the Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home in Vincennes on August 29, 2024, at 7:00 pm. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will take place at 5:00 until the time of service. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Brian.
