Bruce Wyant

Bruce E. Wyant, 84, of Monroe City, IN went to be the Lord September 29, 2021. Bruce was born in the Wyant family log home of his parents Elden and Dorothy A. (Pankake) Wyant on December 20, 1936 in the Beech Hills, Monroe City, IN. He was a graduate of 1954 class at Monroe City High School and was always proud to be called a Blue Jean. Bruce worked in the building and remodeling field for several years. He later joined Public Service Company, now know as Duke Energy. During his time there he held several supervisory and management positions. He left Public Service to become the general manager of Vincennes Electric Supply where he worked for 6 years. He then rejoined Public Service Company where he worked until his retirement in 1996 with nearly 30 years of employment. After his retirement Bruce continued to work part-time consulting for 10 years. He, along with his wife Mary Sue spent numerous hours doing volunteer work at RSVP, Habitat for Humanity, Blue Jean Center, Generations and through the Monroe City Church of God. Bruce and his wife Mary Sue enjoyed traveling throughout the United States both on their own and with family and friends. Bruce is survived by his two sons Jim Wyant and wife Dana of Monroe City, IN Mark Wyant and his wife Patricia of Zionsville, IN and his step-daughter Sharon Ellis and companion John Sanders of Vincennes, IN. He was blessed with six grandchildren Rachel (Ryan) Hayden, Eric (Jennifer) Wyant, Guy (Jennifer) Wyant, Skylar Wyant, Kristen (Erik Batker) Wyant and Shawn Ellis. He has seven great-grandchildren Noah Hayden, Alli Hayden, Jeremiah Hayden, Kaylee Wyant, Layla Wyant, Elden Wyant and Reed Wyant. Bruce is proceeded in death by his wife Mary Sue who he married on October 27, 1979 and his parents. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Monroe City Church of God Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Association. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Wyant. A visitation will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 5-7pm and October 8, 2021 10-11am. A service will take place October 8, 2021 at 11am with Pastor Mark Nielson officiating.
