Carol Marie Steele

Carol Marie Steele, 73, passed away at her residence at 8:02 pm on October 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on June 29, 1950, in Vincennes and she is the daughter of Earl and Emalene "Julie" (Durham) Carie. She married Fred Steele on August 1, 1986.

Carol is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was active in the Church choir. She enjoyed baking and loved vacationing in Clearwater Beach, FL where she would walk on the beach. Carol also loved hosting family Christmas parties at her house.

Survivors include her husband Fred Steele of Vincennes; daughter, Emalena "Emy" Goodwin of Vincennes; son Nicholas Carie "Nick" Steele of Vincennes; her stepson Jason Brook Steele, stepdaughter Corrie Dale Murphy; her siblings, Morris "Moe" Carie and his wife Jane of Vincennes, Rita Carie of Bloomington, IN, Ruth Ann Frey of Vincennes, Jack Carie and his wife Posey of Vincennes, Joanie Carie of Newburgh, IN and Judy Cooley of Kearney, NE. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Julie Carie, infant sister Emalene Carie, brothers Tim and Joe Carie and her sister Jan Veale.

Friends may visit with Carol's family from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2004 N. 2nd St., Vincennes, IN 47591. Carol will be laid to rest in Mt.
