Carol Steele

Carol Jean Steele, 82, of Owensville, IN formerly Terre Haute, IN passed away August 14, 2022. She was born October 3, 1939 in Terre Haute, IN to the late Henry Fick Jr and Eleanor (Stillwell) Fick. Carol earned her Master's Degree from ISU in 1957. She worked as a Elementary School Teacher for Fuqua Elementary School in Terre Haute. Carol also worked for a variety of Elementary Schools around Indianapolis and Southern Indiana. She was a member of Owensville Methodist Church. Carol enjoyed working her needle craft, sewing, and quilting. She loved to play the piano and enjoyed playing for church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children Jack (Kristie) Steele and Carrie (Paul) Showalter; grandchildren Austin Steele, Caitlynn Showalter, Jayden Steele, and Cheyenne Steele; siblings Donna (Bob) Dodson and Allen (Carol) Fick. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Steele. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Holders Funeral Home from 9-11a (CST). Memorial Service will be held at 11a followed by a graveside at Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute 3p (EST).
