Catherine Preusz

Catherine B. Preusz, 94, Vincennes, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at New Willow Manor. Born November 12, 1916, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of James F. and Rose E. (Heady) Dixon.Catherine was a life-long member of First Church of God and had served on the Benevolence Committee for many years. She was also a member of the First Church of God Women's Auxiliary and Gideon's Society.She assisted her husband at Toggery Cleaners, on Washington Avenue, until he was called to serve in the Navy. She also was an Avon representative for fourteen years.Catherine enjoyed sharing with her friends. She made her church, daughter and grandchildren her life.Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Preusz) Anderson and her husband, Jack L., of Vincennes; a niece, whom she thought of as a daughter, Linda Jones and her husband John, of Bruceville; six grandchildren, Deborah, Denise, Donna, Darlene, Jay and DeAnne; four step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and twelve great- great-grandchildren.Preceding Catherine in death were her parents; husband of sixty-seven years, Charles W. Preusz; three sisters and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, at 1:00 p.m., at First Church of God with Rev. Georg Karl officiating, assisted by granddaughter, Pastor DeAnne McAllister. Entombment will follow in the Tower Mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery.
