Charles E. Barker, 98, of Vincennes, IN passed away December 15, 2024. He was born in Carlisle, IN on December 12, 1926, to the late Claude and Maybelle (Wolfe) Barker. He attended Bruceville High School and was a part of the 1945 graduating class. Charles married, the love of his life, Kathleen Albrecht on December 20, 1947. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. After the army he went to work at the Prescolite Battery Factory and worked 33 years before his retirement. However, Charles couldn't not stay busy for long, so he began working for the Central Church of Christ as their maintenance man and worked with them for 25 years. He was a life long member of the Central Church of Christ.

In his free time, he enjoyed listening to classic country music, watching Hallmark movies, gardening, watching the Indiana Pacers, hosting big family dinners and holiday dinners, watching hummingbirds, and tinkering on small engines. He will be deeply missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Maybelle Barker; wife Kathleen Barker; daughter Rita Barker; brother Malcolm (Doris) Barker; and daughter-in-law Denise Barker.

Charles is survived by his children David (Georgia) Barker, Randy (Brenda) Barker, Christine (John II) Myers, Daryn (Laura) Barker; grandchildren Sarah (Joe) Pickering, Sam (Christine) Barker, Jill (Mike) Carnahan, Amanda (Christian) LeFaure, Heather (Pasha) Roark, John (Lacey) Myers III, Bryan (Emily) Myers, Shayne Myers, Daniel (Hannah) Barker, Ashlyn (Matt) Salyer; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Claude B. (Audrey) Barker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Barker. Visitation will be held December 21, 2024, at 524 Broadway St. from 11 am to service time. A Funeral Service will begin promptly at 1 pm with burial at Memorial Park following.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
