Charles Elliott

Charles "Charlie" L. Elliott, 79, of Vincennes, formerly of Paxton, IN, passed away Sept. 27, 2015, at his home.Charlie was a truck driver. For many years he drove for Bond Trucking, and then later drove for Bestway. He was a member of the Master Truck Drivers Association, and was recognized for driving 6 million miles accident free. Other memberships included the Sullivan, IN American Legion, and the Disciples of Faith in Paxton, IN. During the Korean War, he served in the Marine Corps in Korea.Born Nov. 11, 1935, in Paris, IL, he was the son of Henry and Mame (Carpenter) Elliott. His parents preceded him.Surviving is his wife, Barbara (Smith) Elliott , whom he married March 11, 1977; his daughter, Sherry Lee and her husband, Donald, of Vincennes; his sister, Irene Stevens of Bedford, IN; his grandchildren, Levi Lee of Vincennes, Joey Lee of Georgetown, KY, Josh Lee of Vincennes, IN, and Grant Lee of Vincennes, IN; and several nieces and nephews.Friends may visit with Charlie's family on Wednesday, from 4:00 - 8:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway.
