Charles Hawkins, 85, of 12571 S. Wabash River Road, Decker, passed away on January 21, 2014.He was born May 3, 1928 in Vincennes, to Samuel Clark and Flossie (McGuire) Hawkins.Charles worked as a commercial fisherman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was devoted to his wife and enjoyed his grandchildren and family.Those left to honor Charles is his wife, Syvil Louise (Seaton) Hawkins, whom he married in 1947; his children, Steve (Delia) Hawkins of Ragsdale, and Janie (Paul) Stephens of Bruceville; his brothers, Bud Hawkins of Vincennes, and Richard Blackman of Pensacola; his grandchildren, Paul Stephens Jr., Lori Edwards, Nicole Russell, Steve Hawkins Jr., Jay Frederick, Beverly Jean Hawkins, and Johnny Hawkins, along with 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and two brothers.Graveside services will be held 11:15 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
