Charles R. Lichte, 89, of Vincennes, IN, passed away on Feb. 19, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a 1942 graduate of Freelandville High School. During WWII, he served as a Tech 3 Sargeant in the Army, and was stationed in Germany. After returning home, Charles worked at Saiter Morgan Implement. Later he was the general manager for Commercial Rentals, Inc., and also worked at Bestway. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Born Jan. 28, 1924, in Freelandville, IN, he was the son of Henry and Matilda (Pepmeier) Lichte. They preceded him, as well as a son, Carl Lichte, who passed away in 1996, and his wife, Lucretia (Holsen) Lichte. They were wed in 1950, and she passed away in 2005. Surviving is his daughter, Carole (David) Culp of Vincennes; a daughter-in-law, Terri Lichte of Vincennes; sisters, Helen Harbin of Freelandville, IN, and Jane (Bill) Sizemore of Lithia Springs, GA; a brother, Roy (Sharon) Lichte of Brownsburg, IN; grandchildren, Brian Culp, Matthew Culp, Chas Culp, Clay Lichte, and Erica Lichte; and great-grandchildren, Carl and Kaiden Lichte. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson at St. John's United Church of Christ, on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
