Charles Mathews

Clyde Mathews, 71, 5821 N. Rod & Gun Club Rd., Bruceville, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born February 9, 1940, in Bruceville, he was the son of David Lee and Helen (Beals) Mathews. His parents preceded him in death.Clyde was the owner of Clyde's Pool & Hot Tub Shack. He was a member of the Harmony Society where he had served as past-president, Knox County Hadi Shrine Club where he served as past-president, Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1 F&AM, French Club and Scottish Rite.Survivors include his wife, Sandy (Clifford) Mathews, whom he married March 11, 1960, of Vincennes; daughters, Lisa Cook and her husband Don of Bruceville, Shelly Agee and her companion Dave Wilson of Shelburn, IN and Sherri Smith and her companion Bob Parmenter of Oaktown, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Langdon of Bruceville, Kristin Calland and her husband Brian of Vincennes, Jake Agee of Carmel, IN, Matt Agee and his wife Liz of Vincennes, Brandi Neal of Greenwood and Casey Smith of Vincennes; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Remington, Sage and Logan Langdon, Derek Neal, and Izabelle, Ivy and Isla Agee; brother, David Mathew of Louisiana and Don Mathews and his wife Donna of Vincennes and sisters, Sue Rutledge and her husband Jim of Bruceville and Jeanette Lewis of Columbus, IN.Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. with Rev. Marvin Kelso officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
