Charles McClaskey, 65, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on May 21, 2012 at Eastgate Manor in Washington.He was born September 2, 1946 in Knox County to Merle and Mary Ellen (Hitt) McClaskey.Charlie retired as a policeman where he had worked for the Knox County Sherriff's office and the Marion County Police Department. After his retirement he worked for Marathon Oil until 1988. He served in the 101st Airborne in the Army and was a Disabled American Veteran. He was a member of the 40 et 8.Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Barbara Chambers McClaskey; his mother, Mary Ellen McClaskey of Vincennes; two daughters, Terri Jo (Jeff) Armstrong of Mount Vernon, IL and Tricia (Brian) Purcell of Vincennes; a brother, Steve McClaskey of Kentucky; a sister, Debra Mason of Vincennes; and five grandchildren, Madison Purcell, Graham Purcell, Brady Blaize, Josh Armstrong, and Daymon Armstrong.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday May 24, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
