Cheryl Riester

October 9, 1971 — May 25, 2022

Cheryl L. Riester, 50, went home to be with Jesus at 12:50 pm on May 25, 2022 at Daviess Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Cheryl was born on October 9, 1971 in Evansville, IN and she was the daughter of Buddy Joe and Sandra (Perkins) Lane. Cheryl married Ted Riester, Jr.on February 15, 1997 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2021. Cheryl was a graduate of Washington High School and obtained her MBA at Oakland City University. She was currently an Academic Adviser at Oakland City University where she was a very dedicated employee. She loved her job and really loved helping students. Cheryl was a member of New Hope Christian Church where she belonged to a Women's Bible Study. Cheryl was a social butterfly, and loved her family and friends very much. She also loved her dog Sadie, and would always take her on rides to get diet Mt. Dew. Most importantly though, Cheryl loved being a grammy to Theo. Survivors include her children, Sydni Stoll and her husband Bradley of Washington, Samuel Riester of Washington; brother, Mark Lane of Washington; grandson, Theo Stoll of Washington; and her aunts, Isabelle Perkins of Indianapolis, IN, and Shirley White of Indianapolis, IN. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy Joe and Sandra Lane, and her husband, Ted Riester, Jr. Friends may visit with Cheryl's family from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Cheryl's funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Online memories may be shared with Cheryl's family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
