Chester Braselton

Chester Prentice Braselton passed away from this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of 90 in Princeton, Indiana. He was born on May 18, 1932, in Owensville, Indiana. Those left to cherish his memories include daughters, Lori Dehut, Gayla (Jim) Wagner, six grandchildren, Alex (Sara) Barnett, Margaret (Ronnie) Currington, Maddie (Matt) Johnson, Taija Tepool, Elise Tepool, Giobniu Birge, eight great-grandchildren, Dani Barnett, Gracie & Kiley Johnson, Ethan & Lyndsey Delong, Brielle Currington, Rose Young, Hayden Fisher, one brother John (Jane) Braselton, one sister-in-law Paula Dickinson. He is preceded in death by his wife Roselyn Dickinson Braselton, parents, Chester & Rosa Braselton, one siter Gwen Mosser, one sister-in-law Betty Dickinson, and one son-in-law, Patrick Dehut. Chester Prentice Braselton was a graduate of Owensville High School and went on to Oakland City University and graduated with a bachelor's degree. Chester got married on November 8, 1959, to Roselyn Ann the love of his life! He was a schoolteacher and retired from Broerman Chevrolet in the parts department. He joined the United States Army and was in the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the First General Baptist Church in Owensville. He also was a member of the Owensville American Legion Post 51, Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign for many years, was very active in civil affairs, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Owensville Watermelon Fest. He loved his family very much. He loved to go for drives in the country, attend fish fries, work wordsearch puzzles, and build dollhouses. IU Basketball and the Saint Louis Cardinals were his favorite sport teams. He loved parades and watching the floats as they came by! He always looked forward to the Watermelon Festival every summer in Owensville. He will be deeply missed by all! Funeral services celebrating the life of Chester Prentice Braselton will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Holder Funeral Home 319 South Main Street Owensville, Indiana. Officiating will be Pastor Bart Newton. Interment will follow in the Owensville Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Holder Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 6:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight in honor of Chester.
