Cleo Geneva Reitmeyer, 100 years and 10 months, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her daughter's home in Seymour. She was born June 12, 1910, in Johnson Township, Knox County, IN, the daughter of Allen and Maggie (Cary) Catt.Geneva had worked as a cook at Lincoln, Clark and Vigo Schools in the Vincennes Community School Corporation, Gimble Bond, Accent Shop and the Executive Inn Gift Shop. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she had been active in the church and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the elderberries. Cleo loved her family and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She liked to sit on her front porch watching people and just enjoyed being around people.Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Hersey) Mangels of Seymour, IN ; son, Dan (Lisa) Reitmeyer of Vincennes; daughter-in-law, Linda Reitmeyer of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Jill Reitmeyer of Bloomington, IN, Chad (Nicole) Reitmeyer of Bloomington, IN, Scott (Janice) Mangels of Greensburg, IN and Lee (Crystal) Reitmeyer of Vincennes; great-grandchildren, Ava Reitmeyer, Molly Mangels, Emily Mangels, Cogan Reitmeyer and Kiara Bennett.Preceding Cleo in death were her parents; husband, Elmer Reitmeyer, whom she married on January 1, 1935 and he passed away on September 13, 2000; daughter, Shirley Ann Reitmeyer; son, Bud Reitmeyer; brothers, Darwin, Gail and Paul Catt; sisters, Doris (Pete) Obermeyer and Nadine (Chris) Ruppel; sister-in-law, Betty (Bill) Beaman and brother-in-law, Leon Fleck.A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St.Memorial contributions may be made to Generations Meals on Wheels, St. John Lutheran Church, St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery or Schneck Medical Hospice Center in Seymour, IN.Online condolences may be sent through www.goodwinfamilyfh.com
