Colleen O. Tolliver

September 10, 1936 — June 2, 2024

Colleen O. Tolliver, 87, of Vincennes, IN went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2024. She was born in Vincennes, IN on September 10, 1936, to the late Jess and Nora (Potter) Smith. Colleen attended Edwardsport High School and graduated with the 1954 class. She married the love of her life Richard Harting on December 16, 1954, and they were blessed with three children. Colleen worked for 30 years as a special education teacher's aide. Her career began at the Hillcrest School and continued at Riley Elementary School. Colleen was a regular attendee at the Community Church of Vincennes and a member of the Edwardsport First Baptist Church. She was blessed with a second love, Donald Tolliver, and they were married on June 3, 1986.


In Colleen's free time, she enjoyed making noodles for church, attending her Mary Martha's church group, baking, cooking, solving crosswords, reading, and entertaining family and friends, traveling with Don, and talking on the phone. She was an avid Bible reader and would always read her daily devotions. She had a strong faith with the Lord. Colleen loved her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.


She was preceded in death by her parents Jess Smith and Nora Archer; husbands Richard Harting and Donald Tolliver; grandson Noah Held; infant brother Billy Smith; sister Ada (Rex) DeMoss; brothers-in-law Carl McGlone, Ed Johnson, and Tom Kinkade.


Colleen is survived by her children Debbie (Jim) Bowers, Bob (Deb) Harting, Linda (Tod) Held; grandchildren Jim (Allyson) Bowers, Jessica (Bart) Osburn, Andrea (Kevin) Sanders, Amanda (Jim) Edmonson, Ashli (Eric) Monroe, Kelsey (Matt) Davis; great-grandchildren Austin Osburn, Klaire Bowers, Kameryn Bowers, Bower Osburn, Bella Monroe, Mia Monroe, Wyatt Sanders, Barin Bowers, Sophie Davis, Leo Davis; great-great-granchild Brilee Osburn; sister Nancy Johnson and JoAnn Smith; and many nieces and nephews.


Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Colleen. Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, from 11 am to service time at 524 Broadway Street. A funeral service will begin promptly at 1 pm on June 7, 2024, with burial at Edwardsport Cemetery immediately following.
