Connie was born on July 13th, 1952, in Vincennes, IN to Arthur W. Tedrow Sr. and Betty L. (Earley) Tedrow.
Connie married David Combs of Vincennes on June 23rd, 1978 and were happily married for 46 years. She loved children with a passion and devoted most of her life to babysitting in her in home daycare.
Connie was a devout Christian and attended Bunker Hill General Baptist Church. She was active in her church community, helping with the youth.
Connie loved her family fiercely. One of her greatest joys in life was spoiling her son. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Connie was a homebody, and spent much of her time watching TV with her husband. She also loved to quilt, completing many beautiful quilts in her lifetime.
Connie is preceded in death by her father, Arthur W. Tedrow Sr.; her nephew, Willie Head; her niece, Noemi Terry; and her step-granddaughter, Shelby (Helderman) Mendez.
She is survived by her husband, David; mother, Betty L. (Earley) Tedrow; siblings, Mary L. (Tedrow) Head, and Tina (Tedrow) Terry-Imtiaz, and Arthur W. Tedrow Jr.; son, Joe Melvin, and daughter-in-law, Amy; grandchildren, Joshua and Ashley Melvin; step-daughter, Davi (Combs) Courter (Aaron); step-grandchildrildren, Daniel and Bryson Helderman; honorary grandchildren, Kaleb Vonderwell (Ann), Kameron Vonderwell, Karlye Vonderwell, and Dave Onken; honorary great-granddaughter, Olivia Vonderwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation service will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9th from 4 to 8 PM. Pastor Scott Soderling will be saying a few words at the end of the service. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Connie.
