Dakota Spires

Dakota Spires, 23, passed away at 3:00 pm on April 17, 2015. Dakota was born on September 14, 1991 in Vincennes the daughter of Trae and Lori (Beard) Spires.Dakota graduated in 2010 from North Knox High School with honors. She then went on to Vincennes University and graduated with honors in 2013 majoring in Business Management and Web Design. She also was President of Alpha Beta Gamma. Dakota embraced her individuality and was very talented in her artistic endeavors. She loved what she loved without worrying about judgment of others. Dakota understood that style is much more interesting than fashion and she was passionate about helping those who couldn't help themselves. In her own way, she changed every person she ever met.Dakota left behind her four legged companions, Rylee and Ralph who she loved and showed; her parents, Trae and Lori Spires of Bruceville; brother, Ruger Spires of Bruceville; maternal grandmother, Lois Beard of Vincennes; paternal grandparents, Jr. and Virginia Spires of Vincennes, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Dakota was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Beard; Uncle Todd Beard; and maternal great grandmother, Marcella Spires.Funeral services for Dakota will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Dakota's family on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
