Dale Lucas

Dale E. Lucas, 78, of Vincennes, passed away at 2:50 am on December 18, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital with his wife at his side.Dale was born March 26, 1942 in Linton, Indiana to Elmo and Rhoda "Madge" Lucas.He graduated from Linton Stockton High School in 1960 and Purdue University Civil Engineering School in 1964. Dale worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation where he was a licensed civil engineer from 1965 to 2005 when he retired. He retired from the Indiana Air National Reserve US Air Force at the rank of Major Civil Engineer Squadron Commander in 1990 after 25 years of service.He was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Evansville, attended the Community United Methodist Church, during the winter he attended Garden Baptist Church in Gardner, Florida, and was a member of the Elks of Lawrenceville, IL.Dale was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed traveling, bus trips, going to Florida in winter, playing golf, playing cards, watching Purdue ballgames, and riding his trike.Dale married Karen (Fiscus) Lucas on December 18, 2014 at Gardner Baptist Church in Gardner, Florida, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter Jill Lucas of South Bend, Indiana; his son Alex Lucas and his wife Noel of Mt. Juliet, TN; his sister Betty Shonk and her husband Glenn of Linton, Indiana; grandchildren Grant and Kate; sister in-law Donna Lucas of Franklin, IN; step-son Ronnie Pinkstaff and his wife Beverly of Carrollton, GA, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.He was preceded I death by his parents; wives Terri and Pam; brother Don Lucas; and stepsons Joe Pinkstaff and Brad Pinkstaff.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 4, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until the service time at the cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dale E.
