Daniel Land

Daniel "Dan" J. Land, 68, of Vincennes, IN, passed away February 18, 2018, at his home.Dan had retired from the YMCA, where he had been the facilities manager. Prior to that, Dan had worked as a carpenter. For many years, he was the greenhouse manager at Organ's Florist and Greenhouses. He served as a certified lay pastor at the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church.Dan was the founder of Helping Hands Ministry. He was a volunteer with Another Chance Christ Ministries. He had rescued dachshunds that had been abandoned, and enjoyed having dachshunds as pets. Expressing the love Dan found through Christ, with people and animals, was very important.Dan was a member of Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1, F & AM, where he had served up through the position of Senior Warden. Other memberships included MENSA.Surviving is his wife, Dianne Carie, whom he married July 27, 1968, which would have been 50 years together this year; his daughter, Charity Hudson and her husband, Bryan, of Martinsville, IN; his mother, Marjorie Land of Vincennes; and his brothers, David Land and his wife, Eilene, of Sterling, VA and Patrick Land of Vincennes, IN.Born January 18, 1950, in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Donald and Marjorie (Nightingale) Land. His father preceded him.Dan's funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, at 2:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home.
