Daniel (Danny) Lee Myers, of Washington, passed away at the Villages of Oak Ridge on July 15, 2024. He as born on September 11, 1937, to Frank and Camilla (Henry) Myers. He wed Judy Kay Frederick on August 1, 1969, and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2019.
As a young man, he worked on the family farm, U.S. Railway, and later hauled milk with Bob Bingham.
He was a family man who was always willing to help. He cared for his mother’s lawn for many years and took her weekly to get her hair done, have lunch, and get groceries. With on call, he would respond to help his brothers and their families. He was the original “fun uncle” and will be greatly missed. When able, he enjoyed being outdoors and woodworking.
Surviving Dan are his siblings, John (Ruth Ann) Myers, Reba Allen, Shirley (Larry) Oetzel; sister-in-law Zondra Myers, and brother-in-law Dale (Terri) Frederick. Dan is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding Dan in death were his parents Frank and Camilla Myers, in-laws Carl and Connie Frederick, brother-in-law Clifford Allen, sister-in-law Rosemary Myers, and three brothers, Ralph, Dale Wayne, and Mark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Dan to Daviess County Friends for Animals, Barr-Reeve Elementary School, Washington Conservation Club, or the non-profit organization of your choice.
The family would also like to thank all of the staff at The Villages of Oak Ridge for their dedication and support over the last few years.
Per Dan’s request, he has chosen cremation. There will be a visitation held for Dan on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:00-11:00am. Following visitation, a celebration of life will begin immediately at 11:00am with Pastor Brad Rainey officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery in Washington.
